In a small saucepan, add agar powder into juice and whisk until completely dissolved. Bring mixture to a simmer and whisk again. Allow mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes or until the consistency is thickened and syrup-like (but not quite as thick as honey). Whisk occasionally while mixture is simmering so that none of the mixture overcooks on the bottom or sides of the saucepan. Once mixture is done, you can add honey if needed. Some juices are not as sweet and adding the agar powder further dilutes sweetness. If using honey, stir in until dissolved.
Eating snacks with the right ratio of nutrients, with the right calories, will help keep your body energized and help you lose weight. Protein (plus exercise) fuels the growth of lean muscle mass, which boosts metabolic rate and increases calorie burn. Fiber, meanwhile, helps improve digestion and keeps you from binging on fats and sugars. So while there's no food that will literally "burn fat" while you eat it, smart choices with these ingredients will help your body operate at maximum efficiency. Bowerman suggests snacks under 200 calories, with 10 grams of protein and close to 5 grams of fiber. Here are 22 of our favorite healthy snacks.
I’ll just accept the weird double agar thing if it can bring us vegan gummies and vegan cheese! Is this cheese recipe still in the testing/tweaking phase or to be shared soon? I am very intrigued now…plus I have a lot of agar agar on hand lol 😀 “Sugar-tastic” that is the perfect word for the packaged kind–no better than candy really. My first two flavor ideas here were orange and apple because I just love both of those juices, but the apple ones were not an attractive color. The orange ones are great, but if it’s fruity and a snack I am probably going to love it. Ha yes, save the black-eyed pea cupcakes for next year–NOT! Happy new years Brandi!!

Volumetrics is an eating plan championed by Barbara Rolls of Penn State University, and it's based on getting more mileage out of low-density foods. For example, a huge salad—or in this case, nearly 4 cups of popcorn—will leave you more satisfied than a square of chocolate, and for far fewer calories. If you're someone who gets depressed by measly portions, reach for healthy snacks that have a high water content like fruits, veggies—or our favorite crunchy munchie: popcorn. For a pre-popped variety, we love SkinnyPop because it's free of additives and tasty without being too salty.
